When God Resurrects Your Desires

“The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness…” (Ps 25:10).

People lead imperfectly. Often we have mixed motives or a hidden agenda. A leader might genuinely care about those following, but he is an imperfect man and his heart often holds a mixture of love, care, and selfishness. Now, that doesn’t mean that men and women shouldn’t lead or shouldn’t follow. We all have spheres of leadership and we are all called to submit to authority at different times. But it does mean that we are to be wise as serpents and innocent at doves. We are to realize that our leaders are human and we are to never follow blindly. We should always follow with discerning ears open, even as we hold these men and women in high esteem.

The Lord, however, ALWAYS leads with unfailing love and faithfulness. His motives are always perfect and they are never selfish. He often calls us to follow Him blindly; we may not know where He is going but we always know that He is for us, not against us, and that His paths are ultimately peace. He is ALWAYS faithful to His promises and He never forsakes His children.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that in a world full of insecurity, insincerity and change, we serve a God who never slumbers or sleeps and always wants for us our highest good?
